So, you’ve said yes—now what? Whether you’re buzzing with excitement or staring at your new ring wondering where to even begin, this simple timeline will guide you through planning your wedding in manageable stages.
Here’s how to tackle your to-dos from “just engaged” to “I do.”
12–18 Months Out
Start with the big three:
Book your venue – Dates go fast, so lock in your dream location early. We still have availability for 2025, so contact us if you're wanting to get married this year!
Catering – If you’re hiring an external caterer, now’s the time to start tastings and bookings.
Planner – If you’re hiring a wedding planner, get them involved early to help shape the day.
10–12 Months Out
Secure the essentials that book out quickly:
Photography & videography – Great vendors get snapped up fast.
Celebrant – Find someone who gets your vibe.
Wedding dress – Shopping early gives you time for fittings and changes.
Hair & makeup – Book trials in advance and lock in your look.
8–10 Months Out
Start designing the look and logistics of your day:
Wedding hire – Think marquees, chairs, lighting.
Tableware & decor – Hire or plan your styling pieces.
Transport – For you, the wedding party, and guests.
Florals & stylist – Chat mood boards and budgets.
Cake – Because cake tasting is essential!
6–8 Months Out
Now it’s all about atmosphere and guest experience:
Accommodation – For you and any out-of-town guests.
Honeymoon – Get your travel plans sorted early.
Decorations – DIY or hire? Start collecting or booking.

Invitations – Design and print.

4–6 Months Out
