How Regional Venues Are Changing What You Can Expect From Your Day
A few years ago, a "regional wedding" usually meant one of two things: a barn strung with fairy lights, or a vineyard with a strict noise curfew. Lately, that's shifted. Couples planning outside the city, and companies booking offsites and functions, aren't only after a pretty backdrop anymore. They want a full day, properly structured, with room for the things that make an event feel personal rather than templated.

It's about more than the view now
City venues have always sold the view, and regional venues still do that well. What's changed is the expectation around the rest of the day. Couples often choose to get ready there with their people rather than travelling in from a hotel that morning. It's a detail that wouldn't have mattered much in the "pretty backdrop" era, but it matters a lot now that you can plan the whole day, start to finish, around one place.
Build the day, don't have it built for you
Here's the other shift: fewer people want a single fixed package where every decision is already made. What they want instead is flexibility. The option to keep things simple, or the option to bring in exactly who they want.
It's a balance we've built into how we work. You can use our in-house catering for an easier, less hands-on process, or bring in a caterer of your own if you've got someone specific in mind. Styling and florals work the same way, with the freedom to style the space yourself or hire your own stylist.
That kind of choice tends to make you more deliberate about every decision, entertainment included. You're not getting a photo booth because it came bundled in by default. You're choosing it because you actually want it there.
What it means for the night
The upshot is that regional events increasingly run as full, unhurried days. A ceremony, a reception, and a night that genuinely stretches out, rather than wrapping up the moment dinner is cleared. That's true for corporate bookings too, where a relaxed regional setting often gets more out of a team than a city function room ever could.
